Meet your Groomer
Jillian has - like many - loved dogs since she was a child. This love for animals took off when she began to learn all of the fun things dogs and people could do together; especially dog sports. She began training her family's Cocker Spaniel in obedience and shortly after rescued a Shetland Sheepdog to train in Agility, Conformation, and therapy work. From the beginnings of her hobby in training her own dogs, Jillian has become a force in the dog community.
With professional experience in the pet industry since 2008, Jillian is a trifecta of everything DOG. Her passion in professionally working with dogs first began as a "side hustle" grooming dogs out of her garage while she went to college. Jillian graduated from California State University, Fullerton in 2014 with a BA in American Studies but then went back to school at Carrington College for Animal Science in 2017. It was there that she earned her degree and was trained as a Veterinary Technician. She worked in the vet industry for a few years before having the opportunity to begin work as a Dog Trainer in 2020. It was while she was training dogs that she made the move to Austin, Texas. With all of these experiences in the pet industry, one thing always remained consistent: her maintaining a side grooming business for fun.

Jillian has since began the transition from part time groomer to a full time business, making her background in veterinary and training part of her art. The decision to start a home-based grooming business was very intentional. Grooming salons can be stressful, include long waiting periods and multiple hands working with each dog. With the home-based model, each dog is handled as an individual and their care is carefully monitored.

There was need for a safe space in dog grooming, just like she saw happening in the dog training world. This space looked like a cozy atmosphere with less hustle. A spot where a dog could show if they were uncomfortable and they would be listened to. Modifications would be made to curate comfort over vanity. The caretakers of these pups could advocate for their dog's needs and collaboration would be the focus of the grooming appointment. Young dogs could come for their first appointments and leave not in fear, but with a new experience set to serve them in the future. And if a pup came in that had no issues with grooming to begin with? Well, we would keep that positive vibe going with a fresh and fun grooming atmosphere.

Let's be honest: most dogs don't like the grooming experience. The idea is not to change their mind. It is to keep them safe, comfortable, and low stress in a process that could easily become tainted with loud noises, rough handling, strange protocols, and care that is lost in getting the job done.

With open arms, Jillian is happy to welcome your pet into her home. All equipment used is professional grade and the salon is separate from the house, making each dog's grooming experience catered to them in every moment. Dogs who are uncomfortable around other dogs can enjoy their own space while others who don't mind company may experience a calming buddy through the process. Dogs who may be known to be grumpy in the process can have their space and tools to help them succeed the furthest they can.

Jillian is proud to be a Fear Free certified professional since 2024 and uses gentle techniques to help dogs feel safe and comfortable during the grooming experience. The idea is truly to take the edge off of the grooming experience: however that looks for your beloved dog.
